CONSCIOUS SEDATION

For some patients, dental surgery can cause stress and anxiety. This is why we offer conscious sedation, an effective solution that will allow you to relax during the procedure and enjoy a certain level of comfort, without compromising the smooth progress of the operation. However, before opting for such a procedure, it is important for us to ensure that this method is suitable for you. You will therefore be invited, beforehand, to discuss the details and the various steps involved in this method with our team.

Please note that sedation is your decision; in no case will you be forced to resort to it.

What is

Conscious Sedation?

Sedation consists of administering sedatives, such as analgesics and anxiolytics, intravenously or orally for children. This will make you feel drowsy while you remain semiconscious. In addition, the effect of the sedatives causes a slight amnesia, blurring your memories of the operation. However, it is important to mention that conscious sedation is a complement to local anesthesia, which will only be administered once the state of semiconsciousness has been reached.

Safety,

at the Heart of the Intervention

This sedation technique is safe and practiced regularly. In fact, it is preferred by the vast majority of our patients, namely almost 75% of them. Note that for more nervous patients, we offer the possibility of general anesthesia in a hospital setting.

Dr. David is trained in anesthesia, which ensures you of his mastery of sedation techniques. Do not hesitate, if needed, to discuss your concerns with our team at the time of your consultation.
